University of Applied Sciences for Sustainable Development Eberswalde

About our university

For over 180 years, Eberswalde has been committed to sustainable research and teaching: The Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) was founded in 1830 as a higher forestry teaching institution. Since the resumption of study operations in 1992 at the traditional forestry and wood research location just outside Berlin, the university has focused on future industries and key areas such as renewable energies, regional management, sustainable tourism, nature conservation, forestry, organic farming, adaptation to climate change or sustainable business. In 2009, HNE Eberswalde was named Germany's greenest university by the Internet portal Utopia. In 2010, the university was awarded the European EMAS Award for its exemplary environmental management and since 2014 the HNE has been climate neutral.

Short description of our subproject

The aim of the StudiPortal Brandenburg project is to expand the test questions developed from the profilgebundene WissensChecks project and to make them more user-friendly. For this purpose, test questions from the fields of business mathematics and engineering mathematics, as well as wood species determination will be migrated into moodle and supplemented with an automated feedback system. In addition, two new subject tests "General Statistics" and "Digital Competencies" will be developed. Statistics is part of different study programs at all four departments of the HNEE, therefore a general subject test on statistics can be used interdisciplinary. We also consider a subject test on digital competencies to be interdisciplinary. It covers competencies that are also relevant for the later professional life of students, including IT security, information competencies, digital communication & collaboration, and others.
