About our university
Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences is a modern campus university that conducts teaching and research at a high level. Every day, around 2,600 students, 67 professors and around 200 employees contribute to the excellent reputation of the university under the leadership of President Prof. Dr. Andreas Wilms. The three departments of Computer Science and Media, Engineering and Economics shape our profile. They design application-oriented, practical teaching, interdisciplinary further education and research, in close cooperation with companies. In addition to presence study programmes both distance and interregional online programmes as well as individualised further training-offers are playing an increasingly important role.
Brief description of our subproject
With the focus on the online study programme Media Informatics
(Bachelor/Master), in the follow-up project "StudiPortal Brandenburg"
we would like to continue to give prospective students an opportunity
to reflect on their professional skills online and to work on existing
deficits. So far, the focus of the online self-assessments and
Microlearning Units (MLU) has been on mathematics and core-computer
science. In order to be able to better support prospective students in
their choice of study, Computer Science, Media Informatics and Digital
Media will be divided into individual learning modules. In this way,
specific IT and media competences can be assessed in a more refined
way and potential theme-specific deficits can be dealt with more
systematically through appropriate MLUs.
Since the Media Informatics degree programme is an online programme, our offer is primarily aimed at working professionals and prospective students in special situations and/or with special needs.
