About our university
Having more than 3.000 students, the TH Wildau is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Brandenburg. In two departments, it provides engineering and natural science degree programs as well as degree programs in economics, IT and law. In addition the university has also been offering extra-occupational courses of study for over 20 years. The TH Wildau promotes a wide range of courses in the introductory phase - both before the start of a degree program and in the first two semesters. These include, for example, the preparatory courses, a pre-semester preparatory course and the introductory program fit4study. These offers are coordinated within the framework of the TH College.
Brief description of our subproject
As part of the ESF-funded joint project StudiPortal Brandenburg, a
comprehensive online self-assessment (OSA) for the business
informatics degree program has been developed. Its purpose being
helping potential students find out more about the content, teaching
and learning formats as well as the people responsible for the degree
program in a playful and efficient way. An innovative software
solution is used that includes all elements of an OSA (knowledge
tests, video clips, general information about the degree program,
etc.) and that adresses potential students in a target group-oriented
manner due to its simplicity to use and its modern design.
This "pilot OSA" is intended to serve as a template to demonstrate how other degree programs at the TH Wildau can be supported with such a tool in the future, helping those interested in studying to find a suitable course and easing the start into their academic career.
